Gerunds and Infinitives — Course Objectives
At the end of this course, you will be able to say:

use the correct preposition associated with given verbs (i.e., stop from, interest in, thank for)
complete sentences using gerunds or gerund phrases
discern when to use a gerund or an infinitive in a given context
change prepositional phrases to gerund phrases, using an appropriate gerund
select the verb form (gerund or infinitive) that best fits a given sentence, based on the context
correct sentences with errors in the use of gerunds, infinitives, and prepositions associated with given verbs
write a postcard to a friend or family member about a vacation using 5 infinitives or gerunds
write a short paragraph about current free-time activities and childhood free-time activities, using at least 2 go + gerund
constructions and 2 other verbs with gerunds or infinitives (like _____, love _____, enjoy _____, etc.)
write a paragraph of pros and cons about a familiar topic (going to school, learning English, living in Provo, etc.), using at
least 3 gerunds or infinitives in place of nouns (subject or object) and 1 preposition + gerund construction
